Plagiocephaly, or flat head syndrome, is a condition when a flat spot develops on the side(s) or back of a baby’s head due to constant uneven pressure on the skull. This causes the baby’s head to look asymmetrical.
A baby’s skull bones don’t fully fuse and harden until several months after birth. Especially in the first 3 months, the skull is still malleable thus the baby’s head might change in shape.
During this period, the baby spends long hours sleeping or lying on their backs. Their heads might stay in the same position for too long with specific parts lying against a flat surface, thus causing those parts of the skull to flatten.
Made with high quality 100% Oeko-Tex certified modal fabric which is soft and comfortable to touch. Aside from being hypoallergenic, it is anti-bacterial and highly absorbent.

Most of the times, the reason that babies feel hot and sweaty is not because of the baby pillow or pillow cover’s quality. It is actually due to the baby’s underdeveloped nervous system, which also affects their ability to regulate body temperature and perspire. Thus, babies are relatively more sensitive towards external stimuli as compared to adults.
For example, when there is a rise in surrounding temperature or when baby is startled, they tend to have a stronger response to it than adults, thus they will sweat relatively more.
Regardless of which head shape your baby has at this current stage, our Jaserie Baby Head Shaping Pillow will be able to offer the solution you are looking for. However, bear in mind that the time needed for flat head adjustment is different for each baby.
Below are some guidelines on flat head adjustment, we hope these will be of help to you and your baby.
Pillow Core:
The pillow core is made from memory foam, thus it cannot be washed as it will ruin the pillow core material. We recommend cleaning it with a disinfectant fabric spray (eg. Febreeze) then air dry indoors.
DO NOT hand wash or machine wash – pillow core material will be damaged.
DO NOT expose to direct sunlight – will cause pillow core material to deteriorate easily.
Pillow Cover:
The pillow cover is made with modal fabric, we recommend washing with water. Aside from machine wash, we suggest washing the pillow cover by hand for safer cleaning and better hygiene.
DO NOT wash with softener – to prevent damage to the modal fabric that will cause pillow cover to deform.
DO NOT expose or dry under direct sunlight – as it will damage the modal fabric structure, making it difficult for future washing.
Please use this product under an adult’s supervision at all times. The product can be used to support the treatment of plagiocephaly under the advice of your doctor or other professional healthcare provider.
